Billy Keith Richardson, 65, died Oct. 13, 1996, in Virginia Beach hospital.
Born in Sparta, N.C., he retired as senior chief engineman from the U.S. Navy after 24 years. Also he retired from civil service with SUPSHIP after 16 years of service. Mr. Richardson was a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post (NU)392.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Richardson; a daughter, Frankie L. Thornton of Virginia Beach; mother and stepfather, Edith F. and Richard Morrison of Sparta; a sister, Judith Carr of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Gerald Richardson of Brevard, N.C., Charles Morrison of Statesville, N.C.; a grandchild, Aislyn M. Barnes of Virginia Beach; a great-grandson, Breydon Keith Dorsey of Virginia Beach; and stepmother, Sarah Richardson of Brevard.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Entombment will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m today in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
