Jean Shaw Henry, 73, formerly of Summit, N.J. and Prattsburgh, N.Y., died Oct. 15, 1996, in Virginia Beach.
A native of Yonkers, N.Y., Mrs. Henry was a retired director of professional theatre in the Metropolitan area for over 15 years. She was the widow of Charles S. Henry III. Mrs. Henry graduated from Wells College in New York. She had attended the Yale Drama School. She was also an active volunteer with the Virginia Stage Company.
Survivors include two daughters; Alma H. Rickert of Virginia Beach, Alice H. Wilson of Woodbridge, Va., two sons; Charles S. Henry IV of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Donald B. Henry of Los Angeles, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
A chapel service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. A. Bruce Carper. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Newark, N.J. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
