Cathryn Richards, 80, of the Monticello Village area, died Oct. 14, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born in Wheaton, Ind., she was a homemaker and member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a longtime Sunday School teacher, an avid artist and former Brownie and Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernie Richards and she was the cherished mother of her daughter, Cathy Richards of Norfolk. Survivors also include two sisters, Annabell Treadway and Ruby Matalavage; two brothers, William R. Treadway and Jack B. Treadway, all of Oregon; and dozens of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. William E. Amon. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
She will always hold a special place in those whose hearts she touched.
