Mattie L. Ebron, 74, of the 400 block of King St., died Oct. 13, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
A native of Martin County, N.C., Ms. Ebron was a member of Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church, Hamilton, N.C.
Survivors include her daughter, Julia Jackson of Landover, Md.; a son, Roosevelt Carr of Queens, N.Y.; a sister, Evelyn Swann of Baltimore; brothers, Clarence Ebron and Willie B. Carr, both of Hamilton, and Leo Carr of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; a son-in-law, Jonathan Jackson; and other in-laws; and a special friend, Rosa Rose; and other friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by the Rev. F.R. Williams. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon Friday. The family will be at her residence.
