MARION M. KENNEDY

Marion Antoinette Moseley Kennedy, 86, of the 4300 block of Gosnold Ave., died Oct. 15, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A native of Norfolk and the daughter of Sidney and Harriett Poole Moseley, Mrs. Kennedy was the widow of James M. Kennedy. She was an elementary school teacher for Norfolk Public Schools for 25 years and was retired. During her career as a public school teacher, she taught at J.J. Smallwood for many years before retiring while a member of the faculty of Larchmont Elementary School. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

She was a graduate of Virginia State College (now university) and was one of the organizers of the Delta Gamma chapter of the national sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc. She was a member of the Better Garden Club of Norfolk for many years and was active in the Lamberts Point Civic League.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela K. Dismond of California; a sister, Virginia M. Wilson of Smithfield; two grandsons, Miles W. Dismond and Abdule R. Dismond, both of the home. She will be sadly missed by an adopted daughter, Demerics W. Webster, and her children, Steuart and Leondas.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Riddick Funeral Service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family will be at her residence.
