LETHA WHITEHURST

Letha Whitehurst, 93, reached out and took the welcoming hand of Christ Jesus to abide with Him forever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Benjamin Whitehurst; two sons, Carlton Earl and Harvey Leonard. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Eugene and Melba, of Richmond, Va., and Hilton and Jean of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a member of Alexander Baptist Church, Portsmouth.

Her remains rest at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, where services will be held at 2 p.m. today. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alexander Baptist Church, 3801 Turnpike Rd., Portsmouth, Va. 23701.
