Edward L. Hagerman, 73, formerly of Williamsport, Pa., and who was residing at 4813 Marlwood Way, Virginia Beach, died suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1996, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital, in Frederick, Md.
He was the husband of 49 years to Mrs. Anna M. Vogel Hagerman. Born in Harrisburg, Pa., on Dec. 27, 1922, he was a son of the late Roy L. and Rachel Shutt Hagerman. Mr. Hagerman was retired from the Maintenance Department of Lycoming County, in Williamsport, Pa.
He was a member of the Ascension Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, and a former member of the St. Ann's Catholic Church, Williamsport, and the Senior Citizens of South Williamsport.
Surviving him besides his wife is one son, Alan E. Hagerman, of Virginia Beach; stepmother, Ruth Zeigler Hagerman of Linden, Pa.; two sisters, Ida Webb of Montoursville, Pa., and Betty Rearick of Jersey Shore, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Kayla A. Hagerman.
A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m., in the Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, Virginia Beach. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
