Carnival unveils world's largest cruise ship
Carnival Cruise Lines Thursday took delivery of the world's largest cruise ship, the Carnival Destiny, which will enter seven-day Caribbean service from Miami in late November. In dockside ceremonies at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy - where the massive, $400 million vessel has been under construction for the past two years - command of the vessel was turned over to Capt. Giovanni Gallo. Following a trans-Atlantic voyage, the vessel is scheduled for two weeks of promotional activities calling in New York City, Boston and Norfolk before arriving in her homeport of Miami. (Staff) by CNB
