Richard Petty, retired king of the stock car circuit and Republican candidate for secretary of state, will make a noon campaign stop at the Weeping Radish Restaurant in Manteo on Tuesday.
A Randolph County commissioner for 16 years, Petty is trying to become the first Republican to hold the office in this century.
