SHARKS LOOK TO CLINCH TITLE, SEND OUT A MESSAGE

Hampton Roads sent out a message to the rest of the Mason-Dixon Football League last week with a 53-6 crushing of Baltimore.

When the Sharks host the Washington Stars at 7:30 tonight, they plan to make sure word got out.

After losing to defending league champion Fredericksbrug two weeks ago 22-0, Hampton Roads needed to bounce back.

And boy did they.

Thanks to the offensive line, that was no problem for quarterback Corey Kennedy and receivers Brian Darden and Reginald Crosby. Kennedy passed for 304 yards and four touchdowns - 147 of those yards and three scoring strikes to Darden. Crosby caught one TD toss and finished with 144 yards receiving.

With a victory tonight in the last regular season home game, the Sharks can claim their third straight Southern Division title, earning the right to host a league semifinal game.

Hampton Roads still has to travel to Lynchburg next week for the regular season finale. by CNB
