Hazel D. Staples, 85, died Oct. 17, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
She was an Episcopalian and a homemaker.
Survivors include a nephew, Hugh R. Staples and his wife, Beth; two great-nephews, Hugh R. Staples Jr. and Thomas E. Staples; a great-niece, Tracy E. Staples.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Mark Delcuze in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. A visitation will be held in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Contributions may be made to Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Norfolk.
