In spite of rarely supporting Republican candidates during my many years of voting, I was going to vote this time for John Warner - mainly to thank him for helping to keep Oliver North out of the U.S. Senate. But because of the forged photo episode and the senator's deigning to look into the ``details'' of this typical Willie Horton-type Republican tactic, I definitely intend to vote for Mark Warner, as I now see I should have all along.
John Warner may think he's sitting on an unbeatable lead, but I hope his recent smug and cavalier attitude toward Virginia voters proves him wrong.
