THOMAS H. TWINE SR.

Thomas Hillery Twine Sr., 72, of the 1200 block of Holland Road, died Oct. 17, 1996.

Born in Greenville, N.C., he was the widower of Helen Blanchard Twine. He was part-owner of Suffolk Auto Supply, where he worked for 20 years. Mr. Twine was a member and past president of Magnolia Ruritan Club for 41 years, Nansemond River Power Squadron, Portsmouth Moose (NU)898 and the Knights of Pythians.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen T. Czernik and her husband, Larry, of Suffolk; a son, Thomas Hillery Twine Jr. and his wife, Rebecca Jean, of Altoona, Pa.; a sister, Ruth T. Byrum of Windsor, Va.; a brother, Billy Twine of Suffolk; and a granddaughter, Alexis B. Czernik of Suffolk. He was the son of the late Thomas C. and Maude Twine and was predeceased by a brother, Charles W. Twine.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Harrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439. Friends may join the family in the residence.
