Mamie E. Deloatch, 79, of the 1300 block of Marshall Ave., died Oct. 18, 1996, in Norfolk Community Hospital.
She was a native of Franklin, Va., and a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, the senior choir and a founding member of the Douglas Park Neighborhood Organization. She was the widow of Theodore Deloatch and retired 14 years ago as a stock clerk at the Naval Exchange after 40 years of service.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara D. Wright of Norfolk; a son, Norman Deloatch of Hyattsville, Md.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Copper Deloatch of Landover, Md.; a son-in-law, Floyd Wright of Norfolk; two sisters-in-law, Winfred Fairborne of Brooklyn, N.Y., Carolyn Deloatch of Norfolk; a nephew, Bernard Smith of Washington, D.C.; and a host of cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Nannie P. Smith and Samuel A. Smith.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Pretlow's Funeral Home is in charge. Viewing will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church. Family and friends will assemble at 1327 Marshall Ave., Norfolk, at 12:15 p.m. for the procession to the church.
