William Malcolm Martin Jr., 82, of East Ocean View Ave., died Oct. 18, 1996.
A native of Denver, Colo, Mr. Martin was a retired purchasing agent for Fairfax County Schools. He was also a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, Norfolk, and VFW, Hanover, Pa. He retired as a Lt. Commander (SC) after 26 years in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Helen L. Martin of Norfolk; sons, William M. Martin III of Carriere, Miss., and Lester C. Martin of Hanover; seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Morris Bennett, Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, and the retired Rev. Hugh Paschall. Burial will be later in Arlington National Cemetery. The family has requested memorial donations be made to Miles Memorial United Methodist Church. Friends may join the family from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
