Richard Tyler Daniels, 57, of the 3800 block of Meherrin River Reach, died Oct. 18, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Daniels was born in Utica, N.Y. and had retired as a molding supervisor for Cooper Industries. He was also a former General Electric employee and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Dunkin Donuts Club and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wehrle Daniels; three daughters, Corinne M. Gay of Portsmouth, Lynne M. Hodges of Smithfield and Danette M. Marshall of Chesapeake; a son, Richard J. Daniels of Virginia Beach; his mother, Gladys T. Daniels of Utica; a sister, Betty Behnke of Syracuse, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Brooke A. Marshall of Chesapeake, Kelcy L. Gay and Taylor W. Gay, both of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Martha W. Davis Cancer Center, 3636 High St., Portsmouth, VA, 23707 or to the Union Mission, P.O. Box 3203, Norfolk, VA, 23514.
