Nannie Morris Sanford, 90, formerly of Petersburg died Saturday, Oct. 19, 1996, in Lynn Shores Manor.
Mrs. Sanford was born in Campbell County, Va., a daughter of the late John Henry and Florence Reid Morris. She was a resident of Petersburg from age 5 to 1985, was a member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church, retired from the millinery trade and had until recently made her home with her son in Virginia Beach.
Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bernard Sanford, she is survived by her son, James William Sanford and a brother, Elmer C. Morris of Hollywood, Fla., seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Sons Funeral Home.
