Vanessa M. Pearson, 17, of Houston was crowned Miss Philippines America in ceremonies Saturday night.
Pearson was one of five Filipino-American finalists ranging from age 17 to 25 who competed for the pageant title at the Virginia Beach Pavilion.
Pearson receives a $1,000 scholarship and a trip to the Philippines.
