SAMUEL J. CHESSON

Samuel Johnston Chesson, 85, of Westminster-Canterbury, died quietly in his sleep on Oct. 19, 1996, in his home.

Born in North Carolina, he grew up in Berkley, served in the 29th Infantry Division during World War II, and was later employed by the federal government.

Sam spent his retirement days at Lake Wright Golf Club and was made a lifetime member. Survived by his family and friends at Lake Wright and Westminster-Canterbury, he leaves a legacy of celebrating life.

Memorial donations in honor of Sam may be made to the Joy Fund. A graveside service will be held at a future date, and Francis A. Gay Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
