Lydia B. Collier, 79, of the 5000 block of Windsor Lane died a peaceful death Oct. 19, 1996, in Norfolk.
A native of Johnston County, N.C., Mrs. Collier was a member of Avalon Church of Christ, Virginia Beach, and the widow of Toye L. Collier.
Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Engebretsen, and her husband, Gene, of Chesapeake and Brenda Harris of Virginia Beach; sons, Shelton Collier and his wife, Jean, of Chesapeake, Norwood Collier of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jerry Collier and his wife, Pat, of Norfolk; a sister, Inez Medlin of Pine Level, N.C.; a brother, Arbie Bass, and his wife, Sarah, of Micro, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by Mr. James Bennett. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. A visitation was held Sunday.
