Robert Lloyd ``Bob'' Rogers, 65, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 1996, at Virginia Baptist Hospital after a two year battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 16, 1930, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late William Alexander and Elizabeth Colwell Rogers. He was retired from Eastern Airlines, after which he and his wife, Jacqueline Midgett Rogers, now deceased, resided in Nags Head, N.C., where he was co-owner of Rogers Cottages and was also Registrar of Nags Head.
Surviving are three sisters, Marie R. Scott, Margaret E. Rogers and Cornelia V. Rogers; two brothers, Earl H. Rogers and Paul E. Rogers, all of Lynchburg; and two aunts, Annie Colwell and Mabel Colwell, both of Roanoke.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Diuguid Rivermont Chapel with the Rev. John L. Chafee officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence, 2313 Indian Hill Road, Lynchburg.
