Warren Lee Shaw, 69, died Oct. 17, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was born in Oak Park, Ill., and was retired as a lieutenant commander from the Navy after 28 years and from the Virginia Department of Taxation as a field agent after 15 years. He was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, where he participated in its Food Pantry Program. He was past president of Woodstock Lions Club; Tidewater Retired Officers Association; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post (NU)4809 and Tidewater SOLO Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah L. Storer of Portsmouth and Heather M. Daniels of Virginia Beach; two sons, Ronald S. Shaw of San Diego, Calif., and James W. Shaw of Norfolk; a sister, Iris A. Bell of Quincy, Ill.; two brothers, Gayle Shaw of Gallatin, Tenn., and Mark F. Shaw of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Alison Chapman, Jason Shaw, Nicholas Shaw and Steven Richard.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Emmanuel Episcopal Church by the Rev. Julia Dorsey Loomis. Cremains will be buried at sea. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
