About 2 a.m. Oct. 6, a 23-year-old Norfolk woman was abducted and sexually assaulted as she was walking home.
The woman had made some purchases at a 7-Eleven at the corner of 41st Street and Hampton Boulevard and was in the 800 block of W. 38th St. when she was stopped by a man with a gun in a white compact car.
She was forced into the car and sexually assaulted by the gunman and another man in the vehicle.
The first suspect is described as black, in his mid-20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds.
The other man is described as black, around 20, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 170 pounds. Virginia Beach 427-0000
The D.M. Williams Ltd. clothing store in the 1800 block of Laskin Road in the La Promenade Shopping Center has been burglarized several times.
It was hit on Oct. 6 about 3 a.m., Oct. 10 about 2:30 a.m. and Oct. 11 about 5:45 a.m.
Thieves smashed store-front windows and stole leather and wool jackets, coats, and vests. The brand-name merchandise included Nautica, McKenzie Tribe, Robert Comstock and Timberland.
A witness saw a man putting coats in the trunk of a late-model, dark-colored Toyota Camry or similar car. The car had a burned-out headlight.
The suspect was wearing a baseball cap. Chesapeake 487-1234
On Sept. 14 about 11 p.m., an elderly woman was robbed as she got out of her car in the 1200 block of Cleona Drive in the South Norfolk area.
The suspect approached the woman, pulled out a handgun - possibly a BB gun - and attempted to take her purse.
The attacker did not get the purse, but he was able to take several items from it.
The suspect is described as black, in his early 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 180 pounds, with a slim build and a full face. Suffolk 539-1222
On Oct. 12, a man was shot in the right hip and robbed as he was walking on East Washington Street at the overpass.
The bullet was fired from a silver and blue vehicle, possibly a Dodge.
After the shooting, the vehicle stopped and two masked people got out and robbed the victim, taking more than $100. Hampton 722-9800
On Oct. 13 about 12:15 p.m., an elderly woman was robbed as she walked in the parking lot of Langley Square Shopping Center on West Mercury Boulevard.
The suspect approached on a bike and forced the woman to hand over her purse. He then fled on his bicycle in the direction of Doolittle Road.
He is described as black, 18 to 27 years old, tall and thin with short hair. He was wearing a green jacket and blue jeans and was riding a dark-colored bicycle.
Detectives said they believe the suspect may be responsible for other, similar robberies.
