The Oct. 14 article ``ODU crime rose 25 percent last year'' was very informative. The thing that bothers me is where the blame is being placed.
Students should not have to lock their doors, lock their drawers or hide their bikes. Why don't you refer to the real problem? People are not being taught to respect one another or other people's property.
This was a basic rule of respect that I learned while growing up. Aren't parents smart enough to teach this to their children today?
