James Erwin Johnson, 35, of the 5000 block of Vick St., died Oct. 20, 1996, in his residence.
A native of Portsmouth, he was an HVAC mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Elizabeth Johnson; two daughters, Jennifer Johnson and Jessica Johnson, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Wanda Jones; and a brother, William J. Johnson of Chesapeake.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. T.M. Frye. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home, and after the services from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at 152 Yorkshire Road, Portsmouth.
