RICHARD C. STEWART

Richard Clyde Stewart, 82, of the 1000 block of Sacony St., died Oct. 20, 1996.

A native of Iredell County, N.C., he was a pipefitter for Norfolk Naval Shipyard Shop 56 for 30 years. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and CC Camp.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Stewart; three daughters, Peggy Jones of Corapeake, N.C., Barbara Bryant, Cynthia Rowe, both of Portsmouth; a son, Dale Stewart of Chesapeake; a brother, Arch V. Stewart of Portsmouth; three sisters and a brother of Statesville, N.C.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Keith Lewis. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to West Park Church of Christ Building Fund.
