MARGARET A. CRAIG

Margaret Alexander Craig, 74, died Oct. 20, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.

Born in Newport News, she was the widow of Lt. Cmdr. James C. Craig, U.S. Navy (ret.). She was a graduate of the College of William and Mary and a member of the Students Club. Mrs. Craig was a retired librarian for Portsmouth Public Schools and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Portsmouth.

Survivors include two sons, James C. Craig of Manassas, Va., and Tompkins A. Craig of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Marie Ottaviano of Baltimore, Thomas F. Craig of Portsmouth and Margaret Elizabeth Craig of Manassas.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by Fr. Geoffrey Hahneman. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Tazewell, Va. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
