Arnettie Russell, 56, of 435 Redbud Circle, died Oct. 21, 1996, in her home.
Ms. Russell was a native of Scranton, N.C., and spent most of her life in Norfolk. She retired as a relocation specialist for Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. She worked there for more than 20 years until her health failed her. She was a member of the Queen Street Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Class of 1957 for Booker T. Washington High School.
Survivors include her father, Leo Russell of Norfolk; her daughter, Joy Hawkins of Virginia Beach; a son, Gregory M. Russell Sr. of Falls Church, Va.; three grandchildren, Jade Nicole, Jamie Leigh, Gregory M. Russell Jr.; very special cousins, Mr. and Mrs. James Burrus; and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk, with the Rev. Mary Clemson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends and acquaintances at the home of Ms. Russell. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
