Lois Boone Carey, 70, of the 100 block of Patton Place, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Carey was born in Franklin and was the daughter of the late Joe Gay Boone Sr. and Beryle Vaughan Boone. She was the widow of William Maywood Carey Sr. Mrs. Carey was a teacher at Portlock School for several years. She was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three sons, W. Maywood Carey Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa., Michael Scott ``Mickey'' Carey and Richard Keith ``Dickie'' Carey, both of Chesapeake; and five grandsons.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Henry Napier and the Rev. Penny Wilson. Interment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, 1000 Croswell Ave., Chesapeake, Va. 23324.
