Pat Raves, left, and Terri Kirby-Hathaway work on their entry for
the N.C. Aquarium pumpkin carving contest to be held next week. As
a Halloween treat, staff members from the aquarium carved pumpkins -
and visitors get to judge which is the best. On Friday, the pumpkins
will be arranged in the lobby, each with a placard stating its name.
Visitors will be given ballots and be asked to check the name of the
pumpkin they like best. Balloting will close Wednesday; the winner
will be announced the next day. The winning department will be taken
to lunch, courtesy of the N.C. Aquarium Society. by CNB
