CLIFFORD MCK. WARD

Clifford McKinley ``Pete'' Ward died Oct. 23, 1996, after an acute illness.

A native of Washington County, Va., he was the son of the late Ralph and Roberta Ward and the brother of the late Hal Ward. He had lived in Hampton Roads for more than 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Ward of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Alan Autry of Norfolk, Clifford Ward Jr. of Washington, D.C., Michael Ward of Jacksonville; a daughter, Nikki Lester, also of Jacksonville. He will also be missed by his three sisters, Margaret Wally and Reba Moore of Mooresville, N.C., Donna Lynn Winkler of Cheyenne, Wyo.; his brother, Ralph Ward Jr. of Washington County; the Autry family of Norfolk; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Farris Funeral Home, Abingdon, Va. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations in Pete's name to the American Diabetes Foundation.
