Melvin ``Mel'' Lee Flannagan, 77, of the 600 block of Maryland Ave., died Oct. 26, 1996, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
A native of Virginia Beach, Mr. Flannagan was a retired building inspector for the City of Virginia Beach with 10 years service before his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Beachlawn Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Sebastian Flannagan; daughters Joann Jarman of Burke, Va., and Linda White and Joyce Sawyer, both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Elizabeth Schalkham of Melbourne, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Nimmo United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2200Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Richard J. Yates. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. in Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Avenue Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beachlawn Baptist Church, Norfolk and Mediterranean Ave., Virginia Beach, Va. 23451.
