VINCENT W. BIERNOT SR.

Vincent W. Biernot Sr., 74, of the 300 block of Biernot Ave. went to his eternal rest Oct. 25, 1996, in his home.

A native of Norfolk County, he is survived by his wife, Dolores C. Biernot. Mr. Biernot retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 11. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chesapeake, a World War II Army veteran and a member of VFW Post (NU)9382.

Other survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Park and her husband, Rick, of Portsmouth; a son, Vincent W. Biernot Jr. of Chesapeake; sisters, Amelia B. Williams and Helen B. Pratt, both of Chesapeake; brothers, Luke Biernot and Teddy Biernot, both of Chesapeake; and a grandchild, Taylor M. Park of Portsmouth.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. James E. Gordon. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the church from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Monday, followed by a Christian wake service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge.
