Madeline D. Barrett, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, at her home on Virginia Avenue.
She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Emma Draper. A native of Conway, N.C., she was a member of the Boykins United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Barrett is survived by her husband of 50 years, Howard J. Barrett; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Charles Meakin of Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Evelyn Odom of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Helen Morgan of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Mathew and Abby Meakin of Greensboro.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Boykins United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Davenport. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins. Memorial donations may be made to Boykins Untied Methodist Church General Fund, Boykins, Va. 23827.
