Robert C. Simmons, 51, of the 400 block of Pendleton St., died Oct. 23, 1996, in Stanley Tippett Hospice House, Needham.
Mr. Simmons was a senior vice president and controller for Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston for 10 years and a Norfolk native. He was in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Norfolk State University and later received his MBA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle (Gladous), of Newton, Mass.; a daughter, Simone H. Simmons of Newton; a son, Anthony Simmons of Newton; his mother, Martha Bryant of Norfolk; his father, Robert L. Simmons of Norfolk; sisters, Carolyn Keeling of Norfolk and Mary Carter of Maryland; a brother, Calvin Simmons of Norfolk; nephew Tavares J. Turner of Needham; a brother-in-law, Raymond Carter of Maryland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Alvin B. Thomas. A wake service will be held Monday at 6 to 8 p.m. The procession will leave from 411 Pendleton St. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the United Negro College Fund.
