Arnold Kwok Chi Ing, 49, of the 3200 block of Dunkirk Ave., died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, in DePaul Hospital, after a long illness.
He was born in China on Jan. 12, 1947, the son of the late Man Sav Eng and his mother, Lee Mee Kim Eng of Norfolk, who survives. Arnold was the loving husband of Rebecca Yau Ing. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in computer engineering. He was the former owner and operator of the China Inn Restaurant. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a member of the Chinese Community.
Besides his loving wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Matthew Ing and Jonathan Ing, both of Norfolk; a daughter, Emily Ing of Norfolk; a brother, Joseph Eng of Norfolk, three sisters, Eva Ng of Norfolk, Lu Leeke and Sylvia Eng of Philadelphia; seven nephews and nieces. He is survived by a host of family and friends in China.
The following is a message from the family: Wayne, we love your very much and are very proud of you. You have fought a good fight with your chin up and a smile. We will miss you greatly but we know you are with God where there is no more sickness and pain.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Christ the King Church with the Rev. Joseph Layman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church. The family will receive family and friends after the vigil service. Memorial donations may be made to the Chinese Community or to Christ the King Church. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
