Harold Spilka, 81, of the 5700 block of Summit Arch, died Oct. 27, 1996, in Lynn Shore Manor.
He was born in Harrisburg, Pa., on Dec. 19, 1914, and was the son of the late Harry Spilka and Fannie Capin Spilka. He was the loving husband of Helene Engelberg Spilka, who survives. Mr. Spilka was owner and operator of his own construction company until his retirement. He was a member of Ohef Sholom Temple, Jewish War Veterans and Brith Sholom Lodge.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Bobby Spilka of Van Nuys, Calif., and Mick Spilka and his wife, Blanche, of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Gertrude McCubbins of Burbank, Calif., and Ina Scieneca of Allentown, Pa.; five grandchildren, Lisa, Amy, Marci, Jodi and Jeffery. He was preceded in death by a brother, Micky Spilka, of Los Angeles, Calif.
A graveside service will be held todayin Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi Lawrence Forman officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Jewish Family Service or to the charity of one's choice. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
