CHARLES DAVIS

Charles Davis of the 2700 block of Victoria Ave. died Oct. 24, 1996, in a local hospital.

A native of Norfolk, Mr. Davis was a member of St. John's AME Church, Norfolk. He retired after 32 years as an airframe mechanic at Naval Air Station Norfolk. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma J. Clyburn of Norfolk; a sister, Ethel Winfield of Bronx, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Vernon Whitehurst, Darryl Clyburn and Marc Clyburn, all of Norfolk.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in St. John's AME Church by the Rev. I.W. Knight. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Graves Funeral Home is in charge. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
