Theodore L. Balis Jr. passed away yesterday, Oct. 28, 1996.
He was a retired master sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps, and had served in the corps for 22 years. He was in Vietnam for two years from 1965 to 1967 and was a specialist in nuclear-biological-chemical warfare. Most of his duty while in the Marine Corps was served in the Far East and Camp Pendleton, Calif., with occasional tours in Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic.
His survivors are: his father, Capt. T.L. Balis, U.S. Navy, retired; his brother, John R. Balis and John's wife, Charlotte, and their sons, Ryan and Dorian of Fairfax, Va.; his brother, Michael, and Michael's wife, Lori, of Fredericksburg, Va.
Ted's mother, Jane, passed away Aug. 31, 1989. He will be buried near her at Arlington National Cemetery on Nov. 5, 1996. Please make donations to the American Cancer Society. Throughout his life, Ted had never offended anyone by thought, word or deed.
