Carl Jesse Allen, 29, of the 1200 block of Ballentine Blvd. died Oct. 22, 1996.
He attended Norview High School and Roberts Park Learning Center. He was a coach for various little league football teams and a parade instructor for parade drill teams. He was a loyal and dedicated son, father, husband, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his mother, Ms. Alice Allen; father, Carl Fence; wife, Prestina Allen; five sons, Chris and Jaquan Alexander, Carl Allen Jr., Ulysses Allen and Talven Allen; sisters, Cynita Lattimore, Yvonne Burden, Carlene Burden, Alethia Allen, Jenelle Allen and Marie Edwards; five brothers, Anton Allen, Antwain Britt, Elijah Britt, Cory Britt and Shykel Fence; grandmother, Florence Lewis of Norfolk; grandfather, Carl Fenel of Rocky Mount, N.C., and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by Beulah Allen and Jake King.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Riverside Cemetery by John and Willaeha Freeman. The family will receive friends at 1211 Ballentine Blvd. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
