Louis Hunter Capilongo, 50, of the 4100 block of Duke of Gloucester Drive, died Oct. 27, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Pittsburgh, Mr. Capilongo was a life insurance agent for The Prudential Insurance Co. and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and its Ambassador Class. He served on various boards and committees. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond, Master of Administration VPI, and board member of the Portsmouth/Chesapeake Association of Life Underwriters. He had taught and was chairman of the English Department at Western Branch High School and was instructional specialist for the Department of Language Arts, Chesapeake Public Schools, and part-time English instructor for Tidewater Community College.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia ``Pat'' J. Capilongo; a son, Jeffrey ``Jeff'' Hunter Capilongo of Winston-Salem, N.C.; aunts, Munnie Luck and Nina Ruth, both of Richmond.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Aldersgate United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr. and the Rev. Scott Rimer. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
