Barry Lee Jacobson, 51, beloved husband, father and son, died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 27, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Jacobson was a real estate agent for the past 20 years in the Tidewater area and was affiliated with William E. Wood and Associates. He was a member of Congregation Beth El, The Million Dollar Club, Tidewater Association of Realtors.
Born June 23, 1945, in Norfolk, he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and received a B.A. from Old Dominion University and an M.A. in history from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and he served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Laurey Caplan Jacobson; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Jacobson; mother, Sarah Jaffe Jacobson; brother, Alan I. Jacobson, M.D., of Athens, Tenn.; niece, Marla Jacobson of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, Aaron and Bryan Kahle of Houston, Texas; nephew and niece, Joel and Marny Murovitz of Atlanta; aunt, Alma Jaffe Wilgard of Norfolk; uncle, Joseph Jaffe of Summit, N.J.; and cousins, Marshall Wilgard of Norfolk, Abby and Stephen Buchberg and Brian, Jason and Lindsay Buchberg of Virginia Beach.
A chapel service will be conducted at noon today at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Congregation Beth El. The family will be at 5084 Pleasant Valley Road, Virginia Beach, Va. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is in charge.
