Richard Clinton Elliot Overton, 26, of the 200 block of W. 34th St., died Oct. 25, 1996.
A native of Norfolk, he attended Norfolk Public Schools and was a member of Garden of Prayer (NU)3 COGIC, Norfolk. He was president of Park Place Records and producer of the group Lost Tribe.
Survivors include his wife, Stacey Overton of Norfolk; three daughters, Arsha Overton, Shanesha Tharp and Tiara Tharp, all of Norfolk; three sons, Raton Tharp, Rashawn Tharp and Richard Overton Jr., all of Norfolk; his father, Herbert Overton; sisters, Angela Sanders, Debra Lee and Felicia Simmons, all of Norfolk; brothers, Herbert Overton, Reginald Overton and Kalvin Overton, all of Norfolk; five nieces, six nephews and a host of relatives and friends; a grandparent, Lee Baker of Norfolk; a great-uncle, Jerry Artis; five uncles, Larry Artis of Fort Washington, Md., Kalvin Wiggins of Washington, D.C., Henry Wiggins and Lee Wiggins of Norfolk and the Rev. Gary Wiggins of Virginia Beach; a stepfather, Joseph Sanderlin of Norfolk; four aunts, Angela Knight and Lavern Baker of Norfolk, Brenda Glenn of Savannah, Ga., and Hollis Stringfield of Charlotte, N.C.; a great-aunt, Elsie Bray of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Garden of Prayer (NU)3, 200 W. 28th St., Norfolk, by the Rev. Gary Wiggins. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will be at P.G. Thomasson Funeral Services Inc. Thursday, Oct. 31, 1996, from 6 to 8 p.m. for visitation. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. the day of the service. Friends may join the family at 217 W. 34th St.
