Geraldine M. Moyer, 78, died Oct. 29, 1996 in Norfolk. She was born in Pottstown, Pa.
She was previously a school teacher in Pennsylvania and was the widow of John H. Moyer. Mrs. Moyer was a member of the Altar Guild at Church of the Ascension, Norfolk. She was valedictorian of her high school class and graduated with honors from Ursinus University in Pennsylvania.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Jean Moyer of Ruther Glen; three sons, Raymond A. Moyer of Virginia Beach, David H. Moyer and Wayne B. Moyer, both of Norfolk; a sister, Betty Matlock of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Denise Moyer of Virginia Beach, and Ryan Moyer of Norfolk; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Moyer and Hayden Moyer, both of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Church of The Ascension Episcopal, Talbot Hall Road and Newport Ave., Norfolk, with Fr. Mark S. Delcuze officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
