Raymond L. ``Diz'' Dean, 72, of the 600 block of Mango Drive died Oct. 28, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Dean was a retired electronics engineer for the Naval Training Systems Center and was born in Detroit. He was raised in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a member of Tidewater Woodworking Guild and Newfoundlanders Club of Tidewater.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marguerite J. Dean; children, John and wife, Lisa, Russell and wife, Barbara, Janice and husband, Russell Davis, and Deirdre and husband, Billy Martin, and son, David; brothers, Ralph and Mac of Grand Falls. He was predeceased by a brother, Don.
A memorial service will be conducted at noon Friday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church by Fr. James M. Noto and Fr. Joe Torretto. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Nicholas Development Fund. The family will receive friends at a reception in the church social hall following the graveside service.
