Clarence J. Little Sr., of the 3400 block of Bow Creek Blvd. and formerly of Norfolk, died Saturday Oct. 26, 1996, at his home.
Mr. Little (C.J.) was born in Enfield, N.C., to the late Hattie Anne Little. He moved to the Norfolk area at a very young age and retired from Tidewater Regional Transit in 1984. After retirement, he worked for The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star, and also continued a long career in the catering business.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Annie E. Little; two sons, Clarence J. Little Jr. of Virginia Beach and Ricky D. Little of Norfolk; eight daughters, Debbra A. Williams, Gloria Upshur and Ethel L. White, all of Norfolk, Jacqueline M. Thomas, Patricia L. Harsley, Kimberly C. Stockdale and Cynthia S. Brown, all of Virginia Beach, and Crystal L. Gaskins of Fairfax Station, Va. Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Blanding and Hattie Mae Little of Norfolk and Beatrice Jones of Long Island, N.Y.; 14 grandchlidren; several great-grandchildren; and hundreds of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3662 Humboldt St., Norfolk, by Minister Charles Welch Jr. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
