JAMES GUY PRICE

James Guy Price, M.D., 81, of the 6100 block of Rolfe Ave., died Oct. 30, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.

Dr. Price was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was the son of the late Forest D. and Vara Guy Price.

Dr. Price retired from his practice as a family physician and most recently was a Virginia State Medical Examiner.

Dr. Price graduated from Maury High School and the University of Virginia, class of 1943, with an M.D. degree and interned in surgery and was a resident in pathology at the University of Virginia Hospital. He was a resident in surgery and medicine at Norfolk General Hospital prior to opening his own practice in 1947. He was formerly a physician with the Federal Aviation Administration and was a private licensed pilot.

He was a member of Ohef Sholom Temple, the Norfolk Academy of Medicine, American Academy of General Practice, the Virginia State Medical Society, charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police Associates, chairman of the Mental Health Advisory Board of Virginia and the Aircraft Owners Pilots Association.

Survivors include his loving wife, Hope Price, RN, of Norfolk; two brothers, Forest D. Price Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Robert L. Price of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, by Rabbi Lawrence A. Forman and Cantor Jenifer Bern-Vogel. Burial will follow the chapel service. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
