William T. Tuttle, 71, of the 4300 block of Point West Drive, died Oct. 30, 1996, in a Suffolk nursing home.
A native of Portsmouth, Mr. Tuttle was the widower of Jeanette Cooper Tuttle. He worked in insurance sales for Allstate and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Portsmouth Naval Masonic Lodge (NU)100, Mt. Horeb Royal Arch Chapter (NU)11, Portsmouth Commandery (NU)5 and Knights Templar.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane T. Horton of Virginia Beach; two sons, William S. Tuttle of Wheaton, Ill., John C. Tuttle of Chesapeake; two granddaughters, Heather and Megan Horton; four grandsons, Brandon, Jeffrey, John Jr., Matthew Tuttle; and his mother-in-law, Thelma Cooper Garrett of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Centenary United Methodist Church by the Rev. Celeste Heath. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
