Thelma Riggan Davis, 92, of the 1400 block of Perry St., died Oct. 29, 1996, in Virginia Beach.
Born in Dobson, N.C., she was the widow of Hubert C. Davis. She was a member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ, Chesapeake, and also visited Providence Baptist Church of Chesapeake.
Survivors include a daughter and husband, Helen and Cecil Martinette of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Manie Miles of Fort Pierce, Fla., Dorabelle Bradshaw of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Beulah Mitchell and Lucy Etta Armstrong, both of Hopewell, Va.; a granddaughter, Teresa Grier of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Buddy Martinette and Brian Martinette; two great-grandchildren, Kendra Stein of Orlando, Fla., Meredith Grier of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by a dear sister-in-law, Ella Stillman of Virginia Beach; numerous nieces and nephews; and her extended family, Sophia Kindley, Norma Dykes, Buddy Kindley and their families.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Rupert Wallace. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and at the daughter's home at all other times. She was loved by many and will be missed my all.
