Lyle L. ``Corky'' Corcoran Sr., 70, born in Wataga, Ill., died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1996, at the Palliative Care Unit, VA Medical Center, Hampton.
``Corky'' was retired from Globe Iron Construction Co. of Norfolk, where he last served as quality assurance inspector. He was a member of the Willowwood Presbyterian Church, Naomi Masonic Lodge (NU)87, AF&AM, and was a past Royal Patrol of Mace Court (NU)9, Order of the Amaranth as well as a past Grand Royal Patron of the Grand Court, Order of the Amaranth.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucille E. Corcoran; his sons, Lyle L. ``Butch'' Corcoran Jr. of Chesapeake, Robert C. Corcoran of Norfolk. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Nancy E. Corcoran of New York City, James P. Corcoran of Chesapeake, Edward ``Chip'' Sawyer of Orono, Maine; and his brother, Robert E. Corcoran, of Wataga.
The family will be present at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. E. Clifton Whitlock assisted by the Rev. Margaret Lampman, Chaplain Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Masonic honors will be accorded at the chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Masonic Home of Virginia, Nine Mile Road, Richmond, Va.
